Fragment I: For God I See

Before there was a House, there was a man who claimed to have seen.

Before there were Keepers, Records, generations, and laws, there was only a voice and a man who believed it belonged to God.

Fragment I: For God I See opens the recovered writings of Eria Edmont, the man at the beginning of Witness. Scattered across years of prayers, private thoughts, instructions, corrections, family records, and writings of uncertain origin, these pages offer glimpses into the earliest days of something that would eventually become far greater than its creator.

But not every page agrees with the one before it.

Some speak with certainty. Some speak with fear. Some appear to come from a man who no longer knows where God's voice ends and his own begins.

And buried among them are the earliest traces of what the Edmont family would carry for generations.

This is not the complete Record. It was never meant to be. These are only the pages that survived.

Witness began somewhere.

This is what remains of the beginning.
